We have developed a sustainability strategy to help ensure consistency of approach across all activities. Grouped under the headings of People, Planet and Prosperity. The strategy comprises guiding principles, all of which can be applied across our business operations.
These principles are also integrated within our Sustainability policy.
People
Community Engagement
- Where applicable, develop and implement project specific Community Engagement Plans
- Evaluate and determine the effectiveness of a company volunteering policy
Training
- Integrate sustainability objectives into the standard company induction
- Continue to educate and train our Supply Chain in sustainable issues
Planet
Carbon reduction
- Continue monitoring business carbon footprint and develop an action plan to achieve year on year reductions
- Continue to develop project specific Green Travel Plans
Waste Management
- Comply with waste management regulations
- Monitor and measure our performance against industry KPI’s
- Achieve a minimum diversion of waste from landfill target of 95%
Prosperity
Financial
- Ensure the business continues to achieve or improve on financial targets
Considerate Constructors Scheme
- Registered projects to target score of at least >40 (new scoring)
- Share best practice across the business where projects receive a score of 44 or above
- Receive 3 National Considerate Constructors awards
Communications
- Report progress against strategy in the annual sustainability report
