English Heritage Appoints SIMPSON

SIMPSON are delighted to have been appointed to partner with English Heritage, to provide a new visitor facility at the prestigious Rievaulx Abbey.
SIMPSON will start work on site in August for a 40 week duration. Works will include major improvements to the museum, which will present the story of Rievaulx, showcasing its role within England’s monastic history in a completely new way and display its remarkable collection from the site.
This work will additionally enable the museum to meet the criteria required to accept important artefacts from regional and national institutions. Other benefits will include the an enlarged visitor cafe, complete with views over the Abbey, and a more free flowing visitor reception with improved shop and visitor facilities.
Clea Warner, Area Manager for Yorkshire said : “We are pleased to have appointed SIMPSON as the Contractors to carry out the work. With the help of SIMPSON, we are looking forward to getting to the end of the project and unveiling a new and improve site for all to enjoy”.
